CLINICAL USE
ORAL: Acute complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Respiratory tract infections (RTIs).
TOPICAL: Burn sepsis, Wounds, Conjunctivitis, Colitis, Enteritis, Intestinal infections.
INTRAVENOUSLY: Patients, who are unable to take orally especially with meningitis.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
- ALLERGIC REACTIONS: For example, rashes, fever, purpura, agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia, serum sickness.
- Crystalluria:
- G-6-PD DEFICIENCY:
- OTHERS: Headache, GIT upsets, stomatitis.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
- HYPERSENSITIVITY
- PREGNANCY
- LACTATION
- IMPAIRED RENAL FUNCTION
- IMPAIRED HEPATIC FUNCTION
